Work in Progress
The Golden Acorn
They're small, but they rock
Rodentia Sample

"The Golden Acorn" is my 1999 student film from a school where student films
were rare for traditional animators. I thought of the idea a few years prior
for a storyboard assignment, inspired by Chuck Jones' "Much Ado About Nutting"
which I'd just seen, to my knowledge, for the first time ever! After an aborted
attempt at another story senior year, it was obvious that "Acorn" would be much
more fun to animate and easier to dive into. I animated this short over three
months, the bulk of it was done in 2-3 weeks once I'd freed up more time near
the end of the semester. It's about 2/3 done, and this sad Quicktime file drops
many frames. Trust me when I say the animation's smoother on video, and
characters don't pop off screen or jerkily rise from bed. I had to edit out
several gags before animating, but once I can return to working on this,
they'll find their way back in.

"Rodentia" is a rodent-band I doodled back in '97. After visiting a local
restaurant with a weekly band, I started drawing them again, and thought
it'd be fun to animate them playing various songs. So far, SR-71's "Right
Now" has some animation, but I'm also working on the "Transformers" theme
by Lion, from the motion picture soundtrack.
